  • The Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) model for safety management
  • Organizational roles and responsibilities in implementing HSEMS

Element 3: Managing Risk – Understanding People and Processes

  • Principles of risk assessment and the “Hierarchy of Control”
  • Workplace hazards: human factors, stress, fatigue, and behavior-based safety
  • Worker engagement and consultation in safety management
  • The importance of safety training and competency development

Element 4: Health and Safety Monitoring and Measuring

  • Electrical hazards and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures
  • Confined space safety, working at height, and lone working

Element 9: Work Equipment Hazards and Control Measures

  • Machinery safety, guarding systems, and Permit to Work (PTW)

  • Maintenance and inspection of work equipment

Element 10: Transport, Movement, and Driving Safety
